We enable life changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential in girls, non-binary, transgender and gender-diverse youth.

Become a mentor

My Voice, My Power! is a group mentorship program that supports self-identified girls and gender diverse youth to develop skills that can lead to gender-based violence prevention. This pilot project will be provided for participants in Grade 4 and 5 in various Metro Vancouver schools.

Being a My Voice, My Power! mentor, you will get the opportunity to:

  • Connect with self-identified girls and gender-diverse youth to help build communities that are supportive, inclusive and safe
  • Support participants to explore their identities, rights, and boundaries
  • Ignite the power and potential of youth teaching young people to advocate for themselves and others
  • Encourage youth to feel confident and hopeful about their future
  • Improve your leadership, group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills in a school environment
  • Become part of the Big Sisters’ Mentor community

“Many people in Canada continue to experience violence every day because of their sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or perceived gender.”
