Unleashing Potential: Big Sisters Launches BC’s First Mentorship HUB to Celebrate 65 Years

Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland is celebrating its 65th anniversary with a bold new vision: the Unleashing Potential campaign. This milestone year is more than a celebration — it marks the beginning of a new chapter for mentorship in BC.

A New Chapter for Mentorship

As the only standalone Big Sisters chapter in Canada, Big Sisters BCLM is leading the way in reimagining mentorship for girls and gender-diverse youth. The Unleashing Potential campaign highlights the life-changing impact of mentorship through the voices of mentees, mentors, and community leaders — sharing stories of growth, confidence, and connection.

“This campaign isn’t just a look back at Big Sisters’ history — it’s a look forward, creating a legacy for generations to come,” says Chantelle Krish, CEO of Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland. “We know that mentorship changes lives. We’re laying the foundation for something unprecedented in our province: a space dedicated to supporting girls and gender-diverse youth through mentorship.”

Introducing the Mentorship HUB

At the heart of the campaign is the announcement of BC’s first-ever Mentorship HUB — a one-of-a-kind space where youth can access mentorship and wraparound support all in one place. The HUB will feature resource rooms, study spaces, art walls, a community café, and garden space — creating a welcoming and inspiring environment that fosters resilience, wellbeing, and long-term success.

Looking Ahead

The Unleashing Potential campaign officially launches on June 17, 2025, with an event hosted at the Big Sisters office — the future home of the Mentorship HUB.

As Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland celebrates 65 years of impact, the organization remains focused on the future — building a stronger, more inclusive mentorship community for the next generation.
