Workshops for Volunteer Mentors

In addition to providing ongoing match support to our volunteer mentors, our staff counselling team hosts a series of workshops that provide mentors with the tools and education they need to be able to confidently and effectively deal with challenges that commonly arise in mentoring relationships. Past workshop topics include boundary setting, internet safety, and diversity awareness.

Big Sisters' Initiatives

The First Nations Initiative celebrates First Nations culture and encourages awareness, understanding and appreciation of our First Nations culture amonst our Big & Little Sisters.  Past First Nations activities have included: bannock making, canoeing, First Nations role model panels, workshops on how to make medicine pouches and mini button blankets, and drumming circles. We also welcome First Nations women to become mentors in our Big & Little Sister Program or our Study Buddy Program

The Multicultural Initiative celebrates and introduces different cultures to our Big & Little Sisters to strengthen cross-cultural awareness, understanding, and appreciation amongst our membership.

The Healthy Living Initiative encourages healthy living for our Big & Little Sisters; encouraging a healthy mind, healthy body, and healthy spirit.

We encourage our membership to be environmentally aware of how they can keep our planet green and learn to fully appreciate our natural surroundings.
