The Big Sisters Spring Lunch is an annual fundraiser which celebrates friendship and mentorship. The luncheon is held each spring in downtown Vancouver and features a distinguished keynote speaker, a testimonial by a Big Sister or parent of a Little Sister, and a three course lunch. |

Mark your calendars for May 31, 2010 for our Big Sisters Spring Lunch as we celebrate our agency's 50th anniversary! The luncheon will be held at a downtown Vancouver hotel (TBA) and will feature keynote speaker Jessica McDonald, a three-course lunch, and celebrations of Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland's 50 years of mentoring. Tickets go on sale in mid-April!

The 2009 Big Sisters Spring Lunch

The 13th Annual Big Sisters Spring Lunch, presented by Scotiabank, was held on April 7, 2009 at the Sutton Place Hotel and raised approximately $33,000 - enough to make at least 16 new mentoring matches! A sold-out crowd enjoyed a delicious lunch and an inspirational afternoon hosted by CTV’s Tamara Taggart. Chief Kim Baird of the Tsawwassen First Nation gave a wonderful keynote speech on how mentoring has been a part of her life and her many accomplishments, and Samantha Sauder moved the crowd to tears as she shared her experience as both a Little Sister 20 years ago and now as a mother of a current Little Sister. Almost $12,000 was pledged by our generous guests to help us ‘Sponsor-a-Match’, and many purchased raffle tickets for their chance to win the beautiful Birks watch. Congratulations to McNeill Nakamoto Recruitment Group, who were presented with the 2009 Corporate Big Sisters Big Heart Award at the luncheon. We give our sincere thanks to our guests, board, Honourary Advisory Board, staff, and event sponsors for making our 2009 Spring Lunch a success!
